I, Kateřina was born to a life in a flat in Bohumín town, but I spent most of my life in nature anyway. As a kid I was playing in the forest next to our cottage, my father was a fisherman and he introduced me to rivers and with my mum, we were outside in any weather thanks to our hunting dog and later because of our love for horses that transferred into a high-level equestrian sport. It gave me my first nickname Kenta. From Kentaurus.
Suddenly a need for an artistic expression appeared in my life and there started my musical journey from rap, thru being in a band, to a solo music career in the reggae scene with a new name KattyGyal Kenta.
This 14 years-long journey led me to live in Prague and even it was a colorful, rich, and successful journey it also took me to the edge of my mental health. It wasn’t the music that hurt me, music only highlighted and escalated all my unsolved issues, blockages, and traumas. The big city life made it even worse because I felt cut off from all the things that feel good to me, that calms me down and charge me. I missed nature badly. In Prague, I experienced the worst days of my life and also the most important ones when I have met my man and found my therapist. Somewhere there Kenta from the end of the world was born. (You can find more about this chapter in our pilot episode on YT.)
Today Kenta from the end of the world is a woman who shares her strength through texts, music, and videos. The strength that I found when I had almost ended my own life, but then during therapy sessions I‘ve understood where all this pain comes from and how to work with it. I want to pass it all on, now from our new home in Rychleby mountains that are called "the end of the world" by many. Every „end of the world“ is also the beginning of something new. And as we want this "new" to be better and happier, we moved to the mountains to find back our invisible roots.
I, ACE, have always been "the computer guy". In my hometown of Hradec Kralove I still had a chance to experience the end of the eight-bit computer era with tape recorders. Hence the short nickname - games at that time didn't allow longer signatures in hi-score tables. By subsequently choosing the Private High School of Applied Cybernetics, I established a clear course for my life's journey.
I was a computer laborer; the computer was my pickaxe. As I became more skilled, however, it became clear that I certainly had no intention of becoming a regular server room "IT guy". I wanted to be creative. And so I moved through 3D modeling and web design to video production and photography. And that was it. Corporate presentations, events, music videos, but also several rallies to Dakar.
But I didn't stop being a nerd and I always tried to bring the digital world closer to ordinary people. I created an app that simplifies the use of smartphones for seniors and the visually impaired and I founded a virtual reality arcade. This has hit the ground running, ensured my success, and this whole time period has had a significant impact on my professional and personal life.
Then, when I met Kenta through the making of a music video, moving to Prague to join her was a pretty logical step with a view of further growth. But in the frantic pace of the big city, I stopped being the master of my time. I lost my inner balance, I burned out, and because of that my addictive tendencies came to the fore. However, this road to hell was stopped by early therapies and a relocation to the bosom of the Rychleby Mountains.
And that's where I found myself. I discovered what it was like to take care of a house, a property, a partner, myself. I restored the balance between the digital and the real world and found myself right in the middle, enjoying the best of what both worlds have to offer.
